Privacy Policy
Effective date: 15 September 2026
Hronia Polla ("the app", "we", "us") is a Greek Orthodox name day calendar. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have. We have tried to keep it short because the app itself collects very little.
The short version
- The app does not require an account and does not ask for your name, contacts, location, or photos.
- The app downloads its name day and saying data from our server. Like any web request, that contact briefly exposes your device's IP address to our hosting provider.
- If you choose to send us feedback, we receive only what you type, plus the email address you optionally give us.
- We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Information the app processes
Data you provide
Feedback. When you use the feedback form, we store the message you write, the category you pick (bug, suggestion, other), and, if you provide it, your email address so we can reply. We also record the app version and platform you tell us about, and the browser or app identifier your device sends, which helps us reproduce bugs.
You can send feedback without an email address. If you include one, we use it only to respond to your message.
Data collected automatically
Server logs. When the app fetches name days, sayings, or images from our server and content network, the request carries your device's IP address, the date and time, and the resource requested. Our hosting provider and content delivery provider keep standard access logs for security and troubleshooting. We do not use these logs to identify or track individuals, and they are retained only for the period set by those providers, typically no longer than a few weeks.
Nothing else. The app does not include third-party analytics or advertising software, does not use tracking identifiers, and does not read your contacts, calendar, location, or photos.
Data stored on your device
The app keeps a copy of the name day list, sayings, and any images it has shown you on your device so it works offline and loads quickly. Any preferences you set, such as names you follow or reminder settings, are stored on your device only. Uninstalling the app removes this data.
Notifications
If you turn on reminders, the app schedules notifications locally on your device. No notification data is sent to our server.
How we use information
We use the limited information described above to:
- deliver the name day and saying content the app displays;
- answer feedback and fix bugs you report;
- keep our service secure and available.
We do not use this information for profiling, marketing, or advertising, and we do not combine it with data from other sources.
Sharing
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with the service providers who run our infrastructure, and only as needed to operate the app:
- Hosting provider, which runs our server and database.
- Amazon Web Services (S3 and CloudFront), which stores and delivers name day images.
These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of users or the public.
Retention
- Feedback is kept until it has been handled and is periodically deleted, normally within 12 months.
- Server access logs are kept by our providers for their standard retention period.
- Data on your device stays until you clear it or uninstall the app.
Security
Communication between the app and our server uses HTTPS. Access to feedback is limited to the people who maintain the app. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through the feedback form, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to or restrict its processing. Because we hold so little, the practical way to exercise these rights is to contact us: we can delete any feedback you sent, including your email address, on request.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal basis for processing feedback is your consent when you submit it, and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure for server logs. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
If you are a California resident, note that we do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA.
International transfers
Our server and content delivery network may be located outside your country. Where required, we rely on the safeguards our providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses, for these transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted in the app or on this page.
